The Western Digital WD76C20 contains a PC-compatible floppy disk controller as well as a real-time clock and associated battery backed RAM (aka "CMOS"). The RTC portion has 128 addressable bytes of which 14 are used for time and date and the remaining 114 are available for arbitrary data.
